I am running the 2012 Boston marathon in support of The Boys & Girls Club of South Boston. I have been involved with the club as a member of its Advisory Board since 2008 and am proud to be part of such an amazing organization that guides over 800 (and 14,000+ throughout the Boston area) at risk youth towards a positive future as productive and responsible adults. My involvement there has inspired me to not only run the 26.2 miles on Marathon Monday but also to raise at least $5,000 for the club.
The club has helped be a positive influence and build character of children within our community since 1938, but it depends on donations to continue to be successful. Please consider donating to this great cause and helping me to exceed my fundraising goal. Your generosity in any amount will be put to great use in 2012 and would be very much appreciated. To donate, please click on the following secured link:
***NOTE: A couple of logistical items/quirks with regards to the donation page that you will find of interest. When you click the donation button it will take you through Amazon.com payments, which assures you the most secure processing. Additionally, the website will ask you if you would like to contribute an optional processing fee in addition to your donation. This fee is 100% optional and goes to the hosting website, not to the charity or to my fundraising goal. It can be adjusted to zero at your discretion by clicking the EDIT link next to its reference on the website***
As this is my first time training for a full marathon I also welcome any words of advice or support so please pass them on as well. If you prefer to donate offline, please send a check to my attention at address below payable to the South Boston Boys & Girls Club.
Thank you for your consideration.
