As many of you know, I am kid and a philanthropist at heart, hence why I work at a Spin Master Toys and have been a mentor to Paola for 6 years. I have recently joined the Advisory Board for SPARK, a national youth apprenticeship program. http://www.sparkprogram.org/
Last spring, we at Spin Master hosted 4 “at risk” fifth grade kids over the course of a 10-week program. It was super easy. For 2 hours every Wednesday for 10 weeks, SPARK dropped off and picked up these amazing kids whose dream job was either in fashion design, toy design, comics or games. We taught them the ins and outs of Spin Master from concept to creation to execution and each kid used the 10 weeks to create their own doll, comic or game. It was amazing.
The kids had a great time and their social skills, attitudes and grades all improved over the course of the session. And my co-workers had a blast, too!! It was a great experience all around.
Over the next TWO months, i will be doing 4 Triathlons to raise money for SPARK and IHAD. I am not going to lie, they won't be easy. The first one is on Aug 27th in Santa Barbara and it is a 1Mile Ocean Swim, 34Mile Hill Bike Ride & 10mi Run... followed by the Nautica Tri on Sept 17th (1Mi O, 25MiB, 6.2MiR) then Hermosa Beach & Playa del Rey, both which are luckily Sprits, so will be a tad easier, but by then my legs will hate me. LOL.
I am asking for your support. Anything you can donate, $5, $10, $20, $100 will be phenominal and will truly help the SPARK Organization in all that they do... and trust me, its ALOT!
Additionally, if you or your company would like to get involved in mentoring and changing these kids lives, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Thanks my dears,
I really appreciate you help!
All my love,
