ORGANIZER: Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Thank you for all of your wonderful support during my crazy marathon adventure. Unfortunately, because of my recently diagnosed mono and lung infections, I will not be able to run the marathon this year. All of the thoughtful donations , though, will continue to support Spaulding and is greatly appreciated by both myself and all the present and future patients.
Although I am very disappointed and sad that I will not be able to run this year, I still plan on helping the team out and will definitely run it next year more prepared then ever!
Thank you again for your support!
OMG I AM RUNNING A MARATHON! Not just any marathon.... the BOSTON MARATHON!!!! Those of you who know me are most likely giggling a bit right now. After all, I am a dancer not a runner. That is about to change. I may run the entire 26.2 miles with my feet turned out like a dancer, but by golly I will finish and I will run the entire race !
This marathon is important to me for many reasons. First of all ,it is somewhat of a family tradition. My father ran the Boston Marathon to celebrate turning 50 and finished in 4 hours 18 minutes (I intend on beating that time!) Secondly ,I am raising money for a cause near and dear to my heart: Spaulding Rehabititon Hospital. I have worked at Spaulding for over 4 years now and have seen countless miracles happen because of the hard work of both the patients who come through the hospital as well as the clinicains who work there. I am running this marathon for them: to support the clinicians as well as to run for those who are unable to run due to illness or injury.
Last year the Spaulding Race for Rehab team raised over $775,000. This money allows for advancements in patient care, teaching and research. Please help me raise money to help all the past, present and future patients and clinicians at Spaulding.
Thank you for your support!!!
