Spay/Neuter Clinic Dominican Republic
Organized by: Beatriz Blanco
In July 2015, a group of PennVet students will be heading out to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for 6 days to offer free spay/neuter and wellness care to various communities.
In collaboration with Dominican based NGO Pets Breeding Control and American based nonprofit group Animal Balance, we will work alongside veterinarians to provide veterinary services to hundred of pets that would otherwise not have access to basic wellness care. In addition to providing veterinary care, we will interact with pet owners and educate them about animal welfare to make a long lasting impact in the life of their animals. By working with local veterinarians we will be able to contribute to the control of stray dogs in the streets of Dominican Republic.
Our group will be led by a PennVet alumnus with we will also conduct a research project during our days at the clinic. Through this project, we aim to develop a partnership with Pets Breeding Control/Animal Balance that will enable PennVet students to travel annually to the Dominican Republic to help run more clinics.
Donate today to make a difference in the life of the animals on the streets of Dominican Republic.
