Since 1877, spcaLA has been a catalyst for change and improvement in the quality of animals’ lives. Education programs help create and sustain a culture of empathy and compassion. As spcaLA is also Law Enforcement, spcaLA Humane Officers investigate animal cruelty, remove animals in imminent peril, and work to prosecute animal cruelty offenders in California. We rescue animals in crisis during disasters and domestic violence situations. We provide veterinary care, enrichment, training, and TLC to the animal in our care as we work to find them new homes. We provide a Village of support for pet owners, from dog training to a pet hotel.
Why do we do these things? To prevent cruelty to animals, which thereby reduces the number of animals abandoned, abused, and neglected.
Funds raised during the Challenge will be used to support spcaLA animal cruelty investigations and disaster response efforts.
