"Cameron died just as she crossed the finish line and completed her goal of running the Shamrock 1/2 marathon in March, 2014. Training for and completing the race was not Cameron's only struggle. She suffered greatly from depression and anxiety and could not understand why people could not talk about this disease. Cameron wanted to "Speak Up" and help other teens feel comfortable talking about teenage mental illness. She did not have the chance to see her dream come true so her family and the CKG Foundation team are working to raise awareness and remove the stigma associated with teenage depression and mental illness. One in four teens suffer from depression, so we have a lot of work to do. Please consider joining me in making a difference in the lives of suffering teenagers and their families." Unfortunately I did not get the privilege of meeting Cameron. However we have something in common, I battled depression through high school and wish someone would have spoke up for me! This is a chance for me to reach out to girls like myself and Cameron. None of it would be possible if it was not for CKG! thank you for this platform! Let's see how many people we can reach when we Speak Up together!
