BENEFITING: Community Partners
EVENT DATE: May 20, 2012
On Sunday May 20th, the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force is entering a team of runners in the 2012 Santa Monica Classic road race. Team members consist of women who have experienced perinatal depression and the people who support then. They are running in honor of May's Perinatal Depression Awareness Month and encouraging other women to Speak Up When You're Down.
The Santa Monica Classic offers a 5K and 10K course. Runners will explore the streets of Santa Monica while overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Start times are 7:30am for the 5K and 8am for the 10K.
Runners are asked to collect pledges from family and friends for every mile they run on May 20th. Proceeds will be used to support the work of the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force, a project of Community Partners.
All runners and spectators are invited to a breakfast reception immediately following the race at The Shore Hotel, located at 1515 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica - very close to the finish line!
