BENEFITING: Spina Bifida Association of America
ORGANIZER: Spina Bifida Association of America
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
I'm running the 2014 NYC Marathon to raise money for the Spina Bifida Association of America. I'm running in support of my brother-in-law John (who is also running), my sister-in-law Linda and in honor of their daughter Kelly.
Kelly was born with Spina Bifida. She only lived for six months and spent five of those months in the hospital. John and Linda feel blessed to have had that one month with Kelly at home. Kelly would have celebrated her 30th birthday this year. John decided to celebrate Kelly's birthday by running the NYC Marathon and raising money for the Spina Bifida Association. I'm honored to be able to run this marathon with John and raise money for a worthy cause that is close to our hearts.
Happy Birthday Kelly!

Team Spina Bifida is the Spina Bifida Association's (SBA) endurance program whereby individuals participate in a marathon, half-marathon, or other athletic event to raise awareness about Spina Bifida and much needed funding for Spina Bifida education, advocacy, research, and service. Many people with Spina Bifida cannot run or even walk one mile - let alone 26 miles! - but you can do it for them. If you want to help those affected by this birth defect, please join or donate to Team Spina Bifida today to make a difference.
