"Little Angels splash pad" in memory of Alex

Opening June 2017!

Our family lost our 44 day old twin, Alexander Michael, on May 16 this year. His death was sudden and unexpected, and it has changed our family forever. On that ordinary Saturday morning, when we left the house for our older children's soccer and softball games, we had no idea how quickly our world would change. We had no idea that when Jon put Alex in the car for me, that it would be the last time he would see him alive, or that when I placed his car seat into the stroller, Alex was in his last minutes of life. We had no indication that Alex was anything other than a normal, healthy baby until he went to sleep that morning and didn't wake up. To help all of us remember Alex's short life, our family would like to build a splash pad in memory of Alex. Watching kids play and laugh, enjoying life, will warm our broken hearts. I know Alex, had he grown old enough to run and play, would have loved to have a splash park in town that he could enjoy with his twin brother Ben and older siblings. With the goal of creating a nice splash pad for the children of Bellingham, we are hoping to raise funds to add to our own contribution. The more that we raise, the better the splash park that we can build and the more fun we can make it. Ideally, we'd love for it to have features that are fun for both younger toddlers and older kids, a place that all of Alex's 4 siblings (currently 5 months to 8 years old) could enjoy together. We think it would be a great asset for our town and the kids in our community, a wonderful way for us to remember our little angel and thank our community for the all of the support they have given our family over the last few months. Help us make a contribution back to our community that all our kids can enjoy for many years to come!
