Reproduction of cats and dogs in Iquitos are not controlled, so this results in a excesive popoulation of this domestic animals. Too many animals, and no enough homes for them. Street dogs and cats don't have many probability to survive on streets, so animal we see on streets came from a house where there were a no-neutered dog/cat. They have good food, love and because of this conditions, they usually have 7 or more puppies in every birth. Families are not able to assume this kind of responsability and abandon puppies. We believe that it's necessary to cut this abandon chain, we must spay/neuter pets that have families. Through this surgery we educate in responsability and adecuate responsible pet ownership. People understand that a neutered animal lives more years, it's more quite, lovely and healthy. They finally understand the importance of having a neutered pet and they spread this idea.
