BENEFITING: A Midwinter Nights Dream, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 08, 2013
THE STORY:
In May 2014, the A Midwinter Night's Dream committee will set up 6,000 pinwheels on the lawn in front of Northport High School on Long Island. The pinwheels will represent the 6,000 lives that are lost to ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease each year. This beautful memorial will be a reminder of those who are lost, and a symbol to inspire us to keep fighting for a cure.
We are selling pinwheel sponsorships for $5 a pinwheel. Our goal is to seel each pinwheel, and as a result raising $30,000 for ALS research and patient care. We ask you to donate to this cause so we can come another step closer to the cure and prevent future loss of life.
ALS is a fatal neurodegenerative disease that kills the motor neurons of the body. Patients become paralyzed and pass away once the disease reaches the heart and lungs, generally 3 to 5 years after diagnosis.
A Midwinter Night's Dream is a non-profit organization run by select students at Northport High School. To find out more about there work, please visit www.amnd.org.
Thank you.
