Sponsor a Tree to Support a Rainforest Volunteer
Organized by: Michelle Catherine
I'm a Pre-Vet student based in Grand Rapids, Michigan working on a BA in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies. It's always been my dream to work with wildlife, and I'm incredibly excited about the career track I'm on. However, I've also chosen to focus on conservation efforts for both wildlife AND the environment, as I believe the success of each is tangibly connected to that of the other. After I graduate with my BA, and before going on to Veterinary school, it's my hope to be able to participate in an Amazon conservation internship and various wildlife rehabilitation projects. These are costly goals, however; but instead of saying "I have dreams and things cost money - donate now!" I'm offering a service in return. Make a donation in any amount upwards of $1 and I'll: 1. Plant a tree 2. Take a photo of it A donation of $1-10 sponsors a regular deciduous or coniferous tree to beautify roadside or landscape; $11-20 sponsors a flowering tree to support local pollinators; and $21 or higher sponsors a fruit tree - the gift of nature that keeps on giving! All trees planted will strictly be from a pool of native local species. All donations that do not go toward the planting of trees will be used to fund my post-graduation volunteer efforts. My goal is 1,000 trees by the time I graduate (~2017). Alone, I'm just a girl with a dream. With help from generous donations, I think we can make wonderful things happen.
