EVENT DATE: Jun 21, 2014
I am qualified to represent the United States of America to compete for the IBFF World championships in Slovenia on June 21, 2014. The cost for airfare, food, housing, and transportation for 4 days amounts to $3,200.
I will be using this trip to experience how it feels to travel outside the country, see why other people do bodybuilding and to prove to the world that young black males don’t just waste their lives caught up in drugs and violence. When I return, I will complete community service hours by speaking to young students in local middle and elementary schools about how being a Bodybuilder and a Powerlifter helped me become a better person.
I want to inspire young kids to use these activities as a way to control anger and become stronger, disciplined individuals. Being a powerlifter and a bodybuilder helped me make better decisions for my life and taught me how to discipline myself. I would appreciate your support in funding this trip because I am not doing this for myself but for the next generation of teens who too often think that fighting and crime are the only options in my community. I will be documenting my service, experiences, and reflections on serving my community in this manner, which I will present to my school during my senior project presentation. Thank you for your time and support.
