THE STORY:

Summary Chepngoror Educational Foundation(CHEFO) is a Kenya-based public charitable trust established in August 2012, by a team of professional social workers and development experts. CHEFO is dedicated to social development with a life-long commitment to work for the empowerment of greatly disadvantaged sections of society Appeal for educational sponsorship of Ms Velory Chepngetich Ms Velory Chepngetich, aged 20 years, is presently studying at Baraton University, Kenya for a Degree course in Nursing As a girl who we know and have suported her in the past, we wish to kindly request for sponsorship to enable her enrol for the second semester, First Year because, she is unable to continue due to lack of tution and upkeep fees. Her yearly tuition costs are USD $1200. The course duration is 4 years, meaning that she will require about $5000, plus costs of upkeep estimated at $1000 for the entire period Motivation Ms Velory Chepngetich is studying this course because she believes it will be the start of a long and successful career in working in the medical field. Her goal is to work in operating theatres. She also wants to develop a set of skills which will stay with her for the rest of her life and kick start a career doing something she loves. Indeed, she has a personal conviction that nnursing is a profession, which is very challenging and hectic at times, as well as rewarding and fulfilling. HER STORY Ms Velory Chepngetich has one challenge; she has no sponsor. She comes from an extremely poor home. Her mother has thirteen children. All except one girl is employed as a casual, meaning they do not have money at all. Her mother runs a small kiosk-shop where she gets less than ten dollars a day. Her father is sickly and unable to work on their small farm Ms Velory fears getting down the path that many girls from poor families like her get into. Many girls who fail to fulfill their education dreams end up being married at an early age and chances are high they do not go back to school after getting married to local men. Solution CHEFO does not want to receive the funds. We want all the money donated to be send directly to the University school account by visiting the following weblink- http://registration.ueab.ac.ke.
