Greetings from our school, Kabazana Primary! I’m a teacher here and I also coach the children in sports and games. My name is Moses.
I have found that the more kids play, the more they learn. But we don’t have the equipment at our school to let the children play. The kids make futbols out of banana fibers and old clothes – we need futbols, volleyballs and netballs. We also need shoes, because when the kids play barefoot we have a lot of accidents. Actually, a first aid kit is needed, too.
And, if enough people support us, we’d like to level our field. There are lots of bumps, big rocks and anthills that are dangerous for the kids. Flattening the surface and marking it off with flags, lines and goal nets would make all of the children and the teachers at Kabazana so happy.
I’m running alongside fellow teachers and students from Kabazana at the World Refugee Day 5k. Will you support our idea?
