Hello, my name is Matthew Barugahare and I’m an English teacher at Kajaho Primary School.
Games and sports make learning real and motivate our learners. And that’s why on World Refugee Day I’ll be running in the 5k to raise money for sports equipment for our school.
Our school has Uganda national students and refugee students from several different countries. I’ve seen it – sports and games bring these different students together. And if there are more chances and materials to play, it will help create even better relationships between students. It might even help us with the problem of dropouts! We need sports shoes, uniforms, balls for futbol, netball and volleyball. And we need goal posts for futbol and a whistle for me – the referee!
I’m excited to run on June 20, and I hope we’ll have your support.
