From the Ground Up: Help La Crosse Dance Centre Grow
Organized by: Nikki Balsamo
La Crosse Dance Centre has been nurturing dancers for thirty-three years, cultivating curiosity in dance students and audiences alike. My parents, Tony and Colleen Balsamo, owned LDC from 1983-2014. They believed that every child who wished to dance should have the opportunity to do so. In 2013, Colleen was diagnosed with breast cancer. In the midst of her battle, Tony was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We lost my dad in September of 2014. My mom, whose cancer is in remission, remained as the owner of LDC until January of 2015, when I took over.
Despite recent tragedy, the legacy of LDC must continue. LDC is committed to providing the Coulee Region with comprehensive dance education that promotes human connection and community by fostering creativity and collaboration.
Now La Crosse Dance Centre needs your help! We are in the process of expanding our space, so that we can serve a greater population of dancers. We are racing to prepare our hearts, minds, bodies, and physical space to make, grow, and discover with our dance artists. As we prepare, we realize we have an abundance of passion and inspiration, but we lack some of the financial resources necessary to complete our newest space.
This is where you come in! Every dollar will get us closer to our goal. No amount is insignificant! We are striving to have our dancing space ready for our fall classes in less than a month, so the need is fairly immediate.
Won't you please look into your heart, and pocketbook, and see if you have a bit of cash to spare? Your contribution will help build a safe floor on which the youngest dancers will discover the joy of movement. Your kindness will make it possible for us to furnish our studio with the barres that middle schoolers will use to explore various concepts that will help them grow to be strong, healthy dance artists. Your generosity will provide funds to purchase a stereo system that will play countless types of music to spark the vivid imaginations of teenage choreographers. And your benevolence will make it possible for adults to have a warm and inviting space to connect body, mind, and spirit through movement.
Thank you for considering helping us fulfill our mission! Peace and All Good!
