In 1977, five hundred runners lined up for the first Spring Lake Five. Thanks to your help, the race has grown into one of the country’s biggest and best running events. Since 2002, the Friends of the Spring Lake 5, Inc. has donated over $1,000,000 to local charities, volunteer organizations, town initiatives and Spring Lake Recreation.
STOMP The Monster™ provides financial and other support to cancer patients, their families, and caregivers when they need it most – during their fight with the disease. We promote a healthy lifestyle with proper diet and exercise, leading by example, and provide funding for potential advances in prevention and treatment.
STOMP The Monster is a 501c3 Charitable Organization started by Seth Grumet, a man battling cancer. While training for his second Ironman Triathlon, Seth began to have unusual fatigue and shortness of breath. An hour after his first CT scan, the doctor’s office called and requested to see Seth immediately. On Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 at 11:48am, Seth called his beautiful wife Margie and asked her to drive him to see the doctor. After tests and surgeries to provide viable samples of the tumor growing in his chest, the diagnosis was in; Seth was battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Seth has been through the very difficult diagnosis of cancer, extensive tests, surgeries, chemotherapy and two stem cell transplants. He has been fortunate to have the support of family and friends during this crucial time. But while going through countless treatments and doctor appointments, he met many people in the same situation who unfortunately did not have the same type of support system. Seth quickly became motivated to make a difference in these people’s lives and founded STOMP The Monster. Over the past four years, Stomp the Monster has assisted over 1,500 families with financial needs such as rent, utilities, cable, phone, auto expenses, medical bills, insurance, & child care. We have provided gift cards for groceries and gas and have personally delivered groceries and gifts to patients and their families during the holidays. We are committed to helping patients fill in the gaps so they can focus on STOMPING Their Monster. Learn more about Stomp the Monster - www.stompthemonster.org.
