BENEFITING: The Sierra Club Foundation
The Sierra Club Foundation’s goal is to end our reliance on dirty fossil fuels; reverse the social, economic, and environmental damage caused by global climate change; restore, connect, and protect healthy ecosystems so that wildlife and wilderness can thrive; and successfully transition to a clean, green, renewable energy economy that better serves people and nature.
As the fiscal sponsor of the charitable programs of the Sierra Club, we provide resources to it and other nonprofit organizations to support charitable scientific, educational, literary, organizing, advocacy, and legal programs that further The Sierra Club Foundation's mission. Donations go toward 100% charitable (C3) actives. These activities support administrative advocacy and charitable organizing.
Each year the Sierra Student Coalition International Committee sends 15-20 delegates to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties to learn about the UN Process, talk to US negotiators, and learn about climate change. It is an opportunity for youth across the US to travel to another country, to learn about international processes, and to engage youth back home so that they too can understand what is happening at an international level when it comes to climate policy. This year 22 students have been selected to travel to Lima, Peru to attend the Conference of the Parties (COP 20). Your gift will help the delegation with travel assistance and housing for the duration of the conference, which is December 1-12. Thank you for your support.
