BENEFITING: HARVARD SQUARE HOMELESS SHELTER CORPORATION
EVENT: HKStache Team 2013
EVENT DATE: Nov 26, 2013
I'm proud to be growing another bushy mustache this November because I think homelessness is an under addressed issue. Homelessness is painfully visible in Harvard Sq everyday, and I'm proud of the Harvard Square Homeless Shelter which until recently was the only student-run homeless shelter in the nation.
Any amount you can give donations will be going
HKStache: HARVARD KENNEDY SCHOOL MUSTACHE FUNDRAISER Nov. 1, 2013 - Nov. 26, 2013
WHAT: For the next month, students at HKS will be growing a bunch of extremely handsome mustaches, while trying to match last year's donations total of $20,000 for local homeless shelters.
WHY: The month of November has become a national tradition where men commit to letting their mustaches grow for an entire month while raising money for charity. The campaigns often fundraise for men's health issues, but our HKS group decided to support a more local cause that disproportionately affects men - homelessness. We're raising money for two incredible organizations:
Harvard Square Homeless Shelter (first student run homeless shelter in country)
New England Center for Homeless Veterans (Veteran's Day is coming up) - See more at: http://www.crowdrise.com/StacheForNewEnglandCenter#sthash.5sNQfxOe.dpuf
