BENEFITING: BURNED CHILDREN RECOVERY FOUNDATION
A few years ago, Stachetober was just a goofy solidarity pledge to the fire service. Kind of like, "I love the fire service so much, I'm willing to look like an idiot to prove it" - which may seem harsh, but if you've ever grown a mustache then you know the first few weeks are rough.
The solidarity thing was fun, but last year Whatcom County Fire District #8 tried to use it as an outlet to raise money and awareness for charity, successfully raising nearly $5,000 for the Northwest Burn Foundation.
This year, Bellingham Fire Department members are "giving it a grow" in the hopes of raising money for the Burned Children Recovery Foundation, a local non-profit organization that provides emotional and financial assistance to the families struggling during their child's recovery from thier burn injuries. http://www.burnedchildrenrecovery.org/
Since I already have a mustache, and have had for 30 years, I thught I would help support the cause and shave it off once I get donations equaling $1000. Support a good cause and help my family, friends, and co-workers see me with a clean upper lip.
. Please help us by showing your support and donating to this great cause.
Feel free to just hassle your friends/family/co-workers to donate to the cause, and all will be good.
