BENEFITING: Blood Water Mission
Hello friends! It's my 33rd birthday! Normally, I don't go around announcing my own birthday, but this year I learned that you can "donate your birthday" and wanted to give it a try! (Many of you have heard the story of Rachel Beckwith, the 9 year-old girl who died after her 9th birthday, whose life became a blessing to the Central African Republic? Check out her story here: http://www.king5.com/news/local/Stunning-fundraising-around-girls-dying-wish--126148123.html
As I celebrate my 33rd birthday, I wanted to ask if you might consider joining me in extending our blessings to our friends in Africa!
My church has been focusing on being a blessing to the community and caring for the countless needs of our pain-filled world. One area that needs special attention is the world water crisis. Did you know that close to 1 BILLION people have no access to clean water!? No clean water means less opportunities for education, more health risks, and all kinds of problems that rise from poverty.
Check out this video from BloodWater Mission that explains how we can partner with our friends in Sub-Saharan Africa to create more opportunities for their communities: http://vimeo.com/8268570
This past Easter season, KCPC Promiseland children did a "Living Water Project" donation drive, which went to support Blood:Water Mission's clean water project in Lwala, Kenya. As a continuation of that effort, I'd like to "donate" my birthday for the cause of clean water and new opportunities for our friends in Africa.
If you wanted to give me a gift or your words of blessings, would you please consider giving a gift on my behalf, to those who need clean water? I already have all that I need, and it would mean a lot to me if you would consider the needs of our thirsty neighbors. Every dollar counts, and whatever amount that you are comfortable giving would make a big difference!!
I am grateful for each new day of life, not just my birthday, and pray that each day I live in this world will make an eternal difference. God bless you!
