BENEFITING: The Stardust-Startup Factory
The Stardust-Startup Factory provides financial support for emerging innovators, inventors, and entrepreneurs who want to make a positive social and environmental impact in the areas of sustainability, mental and physical health, and learning.
The startups we fund are carefully selected after review by subject matter experts. They quickly launch for local, tangible solutions, and become catalysts for a more sustainable, healthier, and more informed world. Funding comes in the form of individual or team grants of up to $2,000 for selected projects. As of December 2017, we've funded 8 projects already! Check out our website for all details and up-to-date information.
Aspiring entrepreneurs are the key to our future. Listening to their ideas and supporting their projects gives them a chance to try something new, fill a gap, and impact their local communities. Our role is to provide them with initial funding and a platform for sharing, so that the whole Stardust community may become inspired by their work, make connections, and see from new perspectives.
Formation of The Stardust-Startup Factory
22-year-old entrepreneur Angus Britton Emmett Moloney passed away on September 26th, 2015, as a result of injuries sustained while hiking in Chatauqua Park near Boulder, Colorado. To channel their energy and to move intense feelings in a positive direction, Angus's parents, Jean and Jim, and his girlfriend, Camille, determined that they would find a way to maintain and to grow his contribution to this world... and The Stardust-Startup Factory was born.
Help us BRIGHTEN THE SKY and BRIGHTEN THE FUTURE!
Vision and Values
Angus—entrepreneur, explorer, ingenious creator, great cook, and lovable human being—could see beyond the stars. He was determined to change the world, to make it a better place. Always thinking outside the box, he pushed others to think beyond "normal." This fund provides seed money for emerging innovators, inventors, and entrepreneurs with like minded aspirations in the areas of:
- Sustainability (i.e., integrating water-food-energy in renewable, accessible ways; getting more results with fewer products; recycling/repurposing materials; finding tiny house-style solutions for affordable housing and living in balance with the environment)
- Learning (i.e., “do it yourself” learning; sharing ideas; designing and implementing “maker space” and “co-working” environments; advancing technological literacy; and expanding ways to make learning accessible)
- Health (Mental Health—i.e., incorporating happiness and positive mental attitude in personal, societal, and environmental health; making mind-body connections to health; exploring consciousness and quantum physics; Physical Health—i.e., understanding our bodies; mind/body connections to health; and food and nutrition awareness)
Because of your overwhelming support, we have a new stretch goal of $50,000.
Thank you for your donation!
