BENEFITING: Midnight Mission
EVENT DATE: Jul 15, 2013
Three college undergrads, on the road for one full month, traveling the country and filming a documentary about some of the biggest challenges of our generation. That is the essence of The Starfish Project. What originally started as your average, "We're driving across the country!" road trip soon turned into something much bigger. We decided to take on a full documentary about the people and places in the US that need the most help, and what we can do to help them. The three of us will find ourselves helping to battle homelessness in LA (The Midnight Mission), learning how to restore the coast in New Orleans (Gulf Restoration Project), and in one of the poorest places in our nation (Pine Ridge Indian Reservation). In each place, we will be working with great nonprofits already in place, highlighting their work and sharing their stories through our documentary. It is going to be a crazy month, and we can't wait to start.
