Start a Non-Profit
Organized by: Trina Henderson
I am have been suffering with hashimoto's disease for over 25 years; consequently, I am no longer able to work. However, I have a lot of knowledge, education, and passion to give others, so I refuse to let my condition hinder me. I'd like to start a non-profit organization to assist families in need (as a mother of three grown children, I know how hard it can be). I'd like to purchase gift cards from stores, e.g. Walmart, Raley's, Target. My aim is to develop a good working relationships with these big box stores and to purchase the gift cards at a discount. The name of my non-profit organization is going to be "We are the Village" because in today's tough economy it takes a village to raise a child correctly. The gifts cards given to the clients will help parents that are disabled, unemployed, or low-wage earners buy food, school clothes, and school supplies. The money I am trying to raise will cover the fees for starting a non-profit organization, grant-writing classes, marketing, and business expenses. Friends that donate to this worthy cause can watch me build the non-profit from the ground up.
