THE STORY:

I have been a witness to domestic violence, a hidden yet obvious truth overwhelming our homes and causing so much devastation within our families. Sharing the pain and heartache involved are not the only reasons I have become a volunteer for S.O.F.I.A. I believe that healing starts from within and can be encouraged through love, support and positive actions.  I believe that life can be lived with purpose and by doing so we may enlighten each other.

Moving forward from experiencing an unhealthy relationship can be one of the most difficult obstacles we face, but it can be overcome with great triumph. I am passionate about  self love, self worth, self value and self improvement.  S.O.F.I.A. is a platform in our community to help women and children recognize their values and help others in the process.

LOVE~FAITH~HOPE~STRENGTH~SURVIVOR

I encourage all to participate in SO.F.I.A.'s movement towards eradicating domestic violence through education and support of those affected emotionally and physically. I personally invite you to join the S.O.F.I.A. Team.

Donate to one of our S.O.F.I.A. Team Members or join our Purple Purse Team today to show your support of Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention.

STOP ~ DOMESTIC ~ VIOLENCE

Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates (fondly referred to as S.O.F.I.A.) is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that provides advocacy, supportive services and referrals for temporary housing to “at risk” women and children affected by domestic violence.

With the help of our supporters and volunteers, the S.O.F.I.A. Success Center is serving our community by providing workshops and presentations in awareness, healing and empowerment.

Your participation in The Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge is greatly appreciated and much needed to promote domestic violence awareness, growth and development within our families and communities. We would love for you to join our S.O.F.I.A. Team. The Purple Purse Challenge runs from 09/28/2016 to 10/25/2016.

If you or someone you know needs immediate help, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or TTY 1-800-787-3224.

If you or someone you know has been affected by domestic violence please contact S.O.F.I.A. to find out how we can be of assistance. We are currently serving Essex County, NJ and the surrounding area.

You are strong. You are worthy. You are loved. You are capable.
