The Story

EVENT DATE: Aug 26, 2017

On Saturday, August 26 at beautiful Hartwood Acres, Noveome Biotherapeutics will host the 2nd Annual State-of-the-Heart® 5K Race and Walk. This race will be one of the final organized events to provide a warm-up opportunity for the popular City of Pittsburgh Great Race in September.

The State-of-the-Heart® 5K Race and Walk will benefit Verland, one of our region’s largest providers of services for people with severe disabilities.  All proceeds from this inaugural race and walk will be used for housing, rehabilitation, health services, and medical care for Verland’s clients, who comprise the most vulnerable and affected population in our region.  This event will help to provide the vital support needed to enable Verland to fulfill its mission to . . . Establish, support, operate, and sustain the best possible programs for the holistic well-being of the individuals whom we serve, without prejudice.

Noveome Biotherapeutics, Inc. is a clinical stage company focused on breakthrough therapies for the regenerative repair of inflamed or damaged tissues.  The company, originally founded as Stemnion, Inc., is located in Pittsburgh near the Southside Works.  Noveome is passionate about growing its business in Allegheny County and helping the region to become a world leader in biotherapeutic research and development.  Noveome is proud to partner with Verland Foundation to help raise awareness for those with needs in our community.
