-An estimated 33.2 million people are infected with HIV worldwide.
-It is believed that 22.4 million of the 33.2 million of infected with HIV are living in the sub-Sahara region of Africa.
-There are about 14,000 new HIV infections that occur every day.
-In 2006, the CDC reported that there were about 1.1 million adults living with HIV in the United States. On 641 thousand were reported in 1996 and 994 thousand in 2003.
