Here's the skinny: WHY I'm trekking in spirit with Sean to the North Pole.
I've known Sean just under a year now, but we were CONNECTED before he was born. You see, before cancer became a reality in his life, it was a reality in mine.
Having been diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in 1978, I was treated as part of the seminal clinical trial which ultimately impacted the way that Sean's Askin's Sarcoma was treated.
Crazy Factoid: Sean is One Man. One Lung., and I am One Woman. One Lung.
[Between us, we make a pair: sorry, couldn't resist!]
I share this with you in an attempt to communicate to you the inexpressible PASSION, JOY, and HOPE with which I support Sean in this effort and his trek to the North Pole.
I will be skiing, snowshoeing, and climbing with him because as he treks to make history, he's carrying me, YOU in his heart with my, YOUR name on his #FlagOfHope.
Sean would be the first to tell you that this trek is NOT about him; it's about YOU, it's about US.
Thus, I ask you to forego a cup of joe or 2or 3, give $5, and add a name to Sean's Mission of HOPE: BOOM!
P.S. 50% of the funds raised through this campaign will go to Sean's personal foundation, CancerClimber Association with 50% going to Polo In The Pines, the premier polo charity event in the metro Atlanta area, with 100% of those funds going to The Sharon Knight Polo In The Pines Pediatric Research Fund held at Aflac Cancer Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation
To be clear, of the 50% that goes to Polo In The Pines, EVERY. SINGLE. DOLLAR. is a PEDIATRIC RESEARCH DOLLAR: Double BOOM!
