I am serving on the Bright Futures campaign for Frankie Lemmon School in Raleigh, NC. Frankie Lemmon is a tuition-free, full day preschool program for children 3-6 years old with developmental delays. My maternal grandmother, Joyce Reaugh, was one of the first teachers and the school inspired my mother, Robin Dorko, to become a special ed teacher.
Two years ago, we provided special education to 25 children of all socio-economic levels. Last year, we doubled that number to 50. This year, 65 children are receiving the life-changing experience that the school’s remarkable staff provides.
There are over 2500 students in Wake County who are unable to enroll in Frankie Lemmon since there is physically no room and no additional funds to support their education. The student to teacher ratio 3:1 since many of the children are unable to walk and talk when they start at Frankie Lemmon.
Your donation will enable us to grow our current student base and most importantly help all Frankie Lemmon children develop the tools they need to flourish when they graduate and mainstream into public school.
I thank you in advance, and hope that you can contribute to Frankie Lemmon, a phenomenal organization, and one that is near and dear to my heart!
