In 2002 I helped to establish the HERA Women's Cancer Foundation after my friend Sean Patrick was dignosed with late stage ovarian cancer. On September 26 I'll be climbing in the 13th Annual Climb4Life Salt Lake City and ask for your help so that we can shift the conversation and the needle on ovarian cancer.
Your gift of $20, $40 or more --whatever you can swing- will help support HERA's grant program, supporting research to finallly find a reliable early dectection method and cure for this disease.
Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent killer” because the early symptoms are subtle and difficult to diagnose. But there are symptoms and education is critical in helping the roughly 22,000 women diagnosed who will be diagnosed this year receive an early diagnosis.
Without an early detection test, about 15,000 women will die from ovarian cancer this year. One in 72 women will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer in their lifetime.
Your contribution will help HERA Women's Cancer Foundation make grants to Johns Hopkins University researchers and the dream team at Stand Up To Cancer that HERA is collaboratively funding to find a cure and more effective diagnosis of ovarian cancer.
Thank you for being a part of the solution!
