BENEFITING: ARCHBISHOP STEPINAC HIGH SCHOOL
For THE LOVE OF BASEBALL
Hi, my name is Marisol Rodriguez-Schildwachter. I will be running in the NYC Marathon in honor of my son David. I am also using it as a platform to help raise money for the Varsity Baseball team at Archbishop Stepinac High School. As an alumni mom and the #1 fan of the Varsity Baseball Team, my goal is to raise enough money to cover the expenses for the entire Spring Training Trip. The NYC Marathon is 26.2 miles. I am asking for your support and sponsorship of $1.00 per mile for a total of $26.00 or for donations of any amount. To learn more about Stepinac High School please visit its website at www.stepinac.org
It was an honor having my son David graduate from Stepinac in June 2011. David received an excellent education and has become a great pitcher due to the tremendous Baseball program at Stepinac. David is now attending college, but unfortunately before the baseball season started he suffered an injury in one of his practices and needed arthroscopic surgery on his pitching arm. We are taking it one day at a time and hopefully he will return to the game he loves by next year. My fondest memories are of my son David pitching for the Varsity Baseball team at Stepinac. That is why I am dedicating my run to him. I am also raising money in his name for the Stepinac Varsity Baseball Team Spring Training Program. I will be running in a jersey with my son’s old number Stepinac #29.
It has been my privilege also to attend amazing baseball games. The Varsity Team has had wonderful experiences such as playing games at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown, MCU Park at Coney Island, and Staten Island Yankees in New York, as well as Naimoli Complex, Huggins-Stengel Field, Eckerd College, and AL Land Stadium in St. Petersburg Florida.
The Varsity Team will take a Spring Training Trip to St. Petersburg Florida during the week of the school’s spring break. There are about Twenty Five players on the team. Parents are responsible for the trip expenses. That includes air fare, hotel accommodations and meals. Due to today’s tough economic conditions it may be difficult or impossible for some players to afford this trip without the help of friends, family, businesses, and company sponsorships.
Donations are accepted all year round; however it would be best if your donation is received by December 31st, Your donation is tax-deductible. Stepinac is tax exempt under Section 501(c)(3). If you can, let’s make this new season an amazing experience for those great baseball players MILE by MILE.
