Stepping Stones to Midwifery

Houston, you have a Jason!!
April 08, 2016
I have been walking the path to becoming a midwife for a few years now. There have been numerous twists, turns, ups and downs along the way. Through it all I have never once doubted that I am called to be a midwife. It has chosen me. So much so that the path is leading me to Houston, TX to finish the last leg of the training process. I have been accepted as a student at the West Houston Birth Center under the instruction of Holly and Kim. I started this journey with Kim and feel that's who I am supposed to finish it with.
Jason has been more than supportive in this venture that he has already secured employment at a medical center in Houston. He will be heading down to TX in April to start his new position. I will be staying in VA until the end of June to make sure Anthony graduated high school and is settled with work and employment before I move.
With all of this comes expenses. Moving expenses. Living expenses. Adjusting to a single income as I will not be able to maintain regular employment due to the nature of being an on-call student midwife the majority of the time. There will be travel expenses to be able to see our children. To think about it all at one time can be overwhelming.
Please consider supporting both me and Jason as we start this new chapter of our lives. Any amount helps. $20 is a tank of gas for Jason's car as he will be driving there in April. He will have living expenses in TX while we still have living expenses here.
Thank you. Thank you for the love, support and encouragement as I pursue my calling... my dream...
