Hello everyone. My Name is rich, I have been home builder and paramedic for a number of years. In working as a paramedic I get to see the world we live in first hand. The world most people don't even know exists. Most people I know live in a bubble and are truly neive too the hardships that exist around them. I've met so many kids in their late teens or early 20s that have nothing and no one to turn to.... And did you know it's illegal to be homeless in most of the U.S.? I have a plot of land I want to give to build a self sustaining place for kids with no support to start their lives and not turn to drugs or crime. My idea is to Build a purpose built home on an acre and half of land that would allow kids to move in free of charge till they can get on their feet and be able to live on there own. They would then sponsor the next generation of residents by helping pay the cost of maintaining the home for the next wave of kids in need. The property would be great for farming and is located a short walk to NYC area train lines. The home could accommodate about 30 people at a time and allow kids to have an address and a bed and a place to shower. It's so sad to see amazing potential being wasted over the simple things we take for granted. This home would allow kids to stay for 3 months to a year while they go to school or get meaningful employment, and then when they get in a better place they would give back to help the house survive in perpetuity.
