Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you for supporting me and the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Team. I am honored to be running the 121st Boston Marathon for an amazing cause.
On April 15, 2013, Gillian Reny was one of the many innocent bystanders critically injured at the finish line in the Boston Marathon bombings. She was rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), where doctors and nurses worked heroically to save her life—and both of her legs. In gratitude to BWH, the Reny family established the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation.
As a psychologist, I witness first-hand the devastating impact of both physical and psychological trauma. I am also keenly aware of the lack of funding for trauma research and care, especially for our military veterans. I am inspired by the BWH Stepping Strong Marathon Team’s commitment to turn tragedy into hope for citizens, military personnel, and families worldwide who have been impacted by the devastation of traumatic injuries and events.
On April 17th 2017, I will be running with the Stepping Strong Team in honor of our military heroes and the countless trauma patients like Gillian. Please join my fundraising efforts and build on Stepping Strong’s accomplishments. Your tax-deductible donation will be utilized to help trauma patients like Gillian regain their strength and ability to step strong once again.
With sincere gratitude,
Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) Stepping Strong Marathon Team is proud to participate in the Boston Athletic Association’s Official Charity Program.
