BENEFITING: Brigham and Women's Hospital
EVENT DATE: Aug 16, 2015
On April 15, 2013, Gillian Reny was one of the many innocent bystanders critically injured at the finish line in the Boston Marathon bombings. She was rushed to Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), where doctors and nurses worked heroically to save her life—and both of her legs. Established by the Reny family in February 2014, the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Fund has raised more than $4.3 million to support trauma healing and care—helping future patients like Gillian regain their strength, mobility, and spirit in order to step strong once again.
To advance the Reny family’s commitment of turning tragedy into hope, and to honor the extraordinary BWH team that saved her life, a team of runners will participate in the 2015 Falmouth Road Race on August 16 in support of the fund.
Thank you for supporting this extraordinary group of runners. Together, we can transform trauma research and care for future patients with traumatic, athletic, military, or disease-related limb injuries. You can learn more about the fund at BWHsteppingstrong.org.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) is proud to be an official charity partner of the 2015 New Balance Falmouth Road Race.
