Taylor Ann Davis was a beloved friend and classmate in the Spring 2015 UK College of Nursing Graduating Class. She had plans to become a pediatric nurse when her life was tragically cut too short. Those who knew Taylor described her as full of life and compassion with a heart of gold. She was spontaneous, free-spirited, and inspirational. Taylor had an unfailing passion for life and all the possibilities it contains. She made an impact on everyone she came in contact with through her big smile and infectious laugh that could be seen and heard from across a room.
It is amazing the profound impact that Taylor has had on so many people, even with so little time on this earth. Memories of her make me smile a little brighter, laugh a little louder, and appreciate life a little more every day. Taylor has changed my life as well as so many others with whom she came in contact. She truly has made me a better person.
Those of us who knew Taylor believe strongly that she was in the midst of changing the world for the better. This is work that we must continue in her name. The UK College of Nursing and the Taylor Ann Davis Family seek to preserve Taylor's memory with a scholarship in her honor. This scholarship is for a nurse who possesses Taylor's characteristics of infectious positivity, limitless empathy, and unfailing passion for life. The scholarship endowment needs a total of $25,000 to make it a permanent annual full scholarship for one student each year. We have $10,000 of this total left to raise!
On April 18th I run the Boston Marathon. I have choosen to run this marathon in memory of Taylor and to raise money for the Taylor Ann Davis Scholarship. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to run for Tay and appreciate any donations and support. 100% of donations go to the Taylor Ann Davis Scholarship. Thank you for helping me to keep Taylor's memory alive.
