BENEFITING: TARZANA TREATMENT CENTER INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 17, 2013
I am running the Magic Mountain 5K as a part of my personal growth and development. Throughout life many things happen that may interfere with our personal goals: graduate, head off to college, start a career, have a family and travel. Yet for some how many actually can achieve them in that order. I started off good heading into college and along the way wound up in an abusive relationship, having a child young and becoming a single parent. To some we can still handle it, yet over a period of time a DCFS case decides to watch over my child. Through it all I learn to become a Domestic Violence support, also a Sexual Abuse Response Advocate, Tarzana Treatment Center Alumni Support, and yet of it all a supportive, healthier Mom. My daughter and I run together in our spare time when I have her on our visits. She lives with her Dad, but we remain contact and share our steps together. I am proud of her and she smiles at me. Through the funds raised I will donate back to Tarzana Treatment Center for the families in the Residential program. The holidays are coming up and there are many families only starting a new beginning. So, as I run, each step I take is a new beginning. I can only keep what I have unless I give it away.
