During my interview with Steve I shared some stories about how some of our Give A Kid A Dream participants have overcome adversity and asked if he had any events in his life that he had to find the strength to overcome.... his response amazed me: "I was trapped in a burning car for 45 minutes in 1987. After nearly burning to death and suffering severe burns, broken legs and pretty mangled up, I was told I may never walk again and things would never be the same. Well that pissed me off and lit my fire! I believe I proved them all wrong and turned my life around and have been very successful in all I do in life.' This is quality we see in many of our Fighters 4 Life participants: they are true fighters and they battle to overcome adversity. In was Steve's uncle Tony that got him into Boxing, and for that and many other fabulous reasons Steve considers Uncle Tony his mentor and role model. As for a hero in life - Sugar Ray Leonard and we agree with you there Steve As a vocation Steve makes people's lives better by repairing and improving their homes.
