EVENT: Boston Marathon 2014
As many of you know, I am a rock climbing coach from Merrimack New Hampshire. For the past fifteen years I have been coaching kids from around New England who range from begginers to elite climbers on the US team. My teams have consistently placed in the top five in the country. Prior to coaching climbing, I was a nationally ranked climber as well.
Last year, I took up distance running and put running the Boston Marathon on my bucket list.
I am thrilled to be running the 2014 Boston Marathon for Newton Wellesley Weston Committee for Community Living, Inc. (NWW) (www.nwwcommittee.org) My wife and two kids, although they think I may be nuts, are encouraging me in this endeavor.
For over 40 years, NWW has worked on the premise that each individual deserves to live with dignity and to be afforded opportunities to embrace the world around them. NWW is deeply committed to developing programs to ensure individuals with intellectual or development disabilities live to their fullest potential. NWW provides Residential and Independent Living support services to 45 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities of low income living in Newton, MA. Residents range in age from 25 to 83 and represent a mix of men and women with diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Thank you in advance for supporting me, and this organization, as I embark on this exciting challenge.
