For those of you who are not already aware, my cousin Michelle Nisenbaum (Lehecka) lives in Sandy Hook, CT and had two children in Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14th, 2012. Michelle’s children were in Kindergarten and second grade on that day and fortunately, both of them were unharmed. The tragic events in Sandy Hook represent a day that no child should ever have to experience.
I am writing you today because I am trying to raise money for a charity started by a family that was not as fortunate. The charity is called Dylan’s Wings of Change. Dylan's Wings of Change was set up in memory of Dylan Hockley, a victim of the Sandy Hook School massacre. Their mission is to support children with autism and related conditions develop to their maximum potential.
Their programs are focused on new technology as an enabler for children on the spectrum and promoting the inclusion of children with autism and related conditions into sporting activities.
Please help me raise money for this cause. I have committed myself to running the New York City Marathon in an effort to raise money for this truly extraordinary cause. My goal is $2800 and I need your help. Please donate what you can. Pass this fund raising page along to friends and family. Every bit helps, I hope to exceed this goal!
