Steven's Service Shepherd
Organized by: Jessica Garcia
When you love someone who has been through the things this man has, you realize just how much you take for granted in living such a safe, sheltered, normal (for the most part) life. At 17 he joined the US Army, and just two moths after turning 18 he served his first tour. Now with a total of four tours and at the age of 24 he is a veteran still adapting back into the civilian life. The transition can be quite overwhelming and some days are better than others and it's not a quick process whatsoever; It's been two years out for him. But alongside this transition into civilian life you also have PTSD, anxiety, and depression. Steven has the biggest heart, an extreme soft spot for animals, and he specifically loves German shepherds. Steven got the chance to see service trained German shepherds in action and feels a special connection to the breed. He is ALWAYS talking about getting an all black service trained German shepherd. As much as I would love to do this for him because I think a companion/service animal would be extremely helpful with his situation, I cannot afford this. Spending 1500-2000 on an animal and training is financially unrealistic for us. It would mean the world to me to be able to relieve any stress or anxiety that he feels by getting this service dog for him. Any help of any kind is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for taking the time to read.
