BENEFITING: Kansas City Metropolitan Crime Commission Inc.
On September 13, 2015 myself (as a part of the Johnson County Fire District #2 Fire Department) and fellow firefighters will be making a 110 story climb at the Town Pavilion high rise in downtown Kansas City to honor the 343 that were killed on September 11th, 2001. Each firefighter participating will climb in honor of one of the members of the FDNY killed in the line of duty. The money raised will go directly to the benefactor S.A.F.E. In the event of a first responder LODD (line of duty death), S.A.F.E. will give a $20,000 check to survivors within 24hrs. In the event of a LODD, the federal government will also issue funds to the family but as you can imagine that may take many months. S.A.F.E gives the grieving families a chance to focus what matters most during the most difficult event of their life.
