St Joseph's Catholic Church 1st Festival de Bomba y Plena
Organized by: Rafael Zeno
Father Carlos Rojas is a very special priest who was recently recognized by the Board of Directors of Tampa Hispanic Heritage as an outstanding community leader. For those who have had the privilege to meet him we know he is a faithful follower of God and our Holy Mother of God who by his words and actions inspires others to be better and get get closer to God. He now needs our help to raise funds for the repairs of St. Joseph's Catholic Church for which he recently became a pastor. This beautiful church was established in 1896 and is one of the oldest and most beautiful historic churches in the city of Tampa but due to it's age it is in desperate need of repairs. The cost of the event is $6,000 which will pay for the bands, sound, transportation and hotel for the musicians as some are coming from Puerto Rico an Orlando. Father Carlos hopes to raise the $6,000 to cover these costs and raise the money for the church repairs through the sale of food which church volunteers will prepare and exhibitors paying for booth spaces. I really think we can do more for Father and most importantly his church which we pray it withstands the test of times and last another 100 plus years. I would love to be able to raise more than the $6,000 needed to cover the function's cost and go in knowing we have not only come together to raise the $6,000 but a lot more so this could serve as a great example of what Catholics and other brothers in faith can do when they get together for a good cause.
