BENEFITING: MENDED HEARTS INC
The fifth grade class at St. Mary Magdalen School in Camarillo, CA is proud to be starting our first service learning project to benefit Mended Little Hearts! Ms. Stimac, our teacher, has been directly affected by a Congenital Heart Defect, when her nephew was born and told that he would need multiple heart surgeries in order to survive. Three open heart surgeries later, and with the support of the Mended Little Hearts organization, we are thrilled that he is a healthy and thriving twelve year old boy, who is able to do everything that any other child his age loves to do. Your donation will go directly to Mended Little Hearts, and will help to create care packages, bravery bags, and other supplies for families with little ones who are in the midst of the hardest time in their lives.
To go along with this project, our class will be learning all about the circulatory system, and how the heart pumps blood and oxygen throught our entire bodies. By the end of this project, we will all be able to describe how the heart, blood vessels, and blood work together to keep out bodies healthy, and what might happen if someone is born without a working part of this system.
Here at St. Mary Magdalen School, we wish to share our strong Catholic faith, by helping others, and spreading love to all those who are in need. If you are unable to donate, please help us by using the power of prayer to bring healing to the bodies and spirits of those in need.
Please help us reach our goal, and brighten the day of a child and family in need!
