Research proves that African Americans are disproportionately affected by Alzheimer's disease.  St. Matthew A. M. E. Church will host its  2nd annual symposium to address Alzheimer's disease and the resources that are available for the patient and the caregiver on Saturday, July 27 at the church, which is located at 1610 Murphy Street in Shreveport.   The conference will take place from 9:00 am to noon.   Topics to be covered include:  an overview of Alzheimer's disease, Alzheimer's research findings, respite care, help for wanderers, etc.
