The Stone Soup Cafe is a non-profit summer food and activities program which provides a safe place for low-income neighborhood children to engage in creative play, which is designed to help combat summer learning loss, while taking part in the USDA's Summer Food Program. Our initial grant has ended and we are looking for new partners to help us continue with our work. One child for one week costs approximately $100, and demand is growing. We have the opportunity to create a second site in another "food desert" neighborhood. Besides being a great place to donate your money, the Stone Soup Cafe is also a fun place to volunteer, if you happen to be in Spokane! If you prefer, you can mail a check payable to St. Andrew's Episcopal; 2404 N Howard Street; Spokane, WA 99205. Please put Stone Soup Cafe in the memo field.
