Horses are in need of saving from slaughter, neglect and abuse. I would like to raise money to start a fund to help horses in such need, rescue them, rehabilitate and re-home them.
In an urgent matter: The Mexican and Canadian borders are going to be halting the import of U.S. horses for slaughter, but unfortunately, the ones left in the killpen will ship to slaughter if not saved. Currently, there are 7 horses in need of being saved from slaughter. They will ship to slaughter Tuesday Oct 16, 2012 if money is not received by Monday 10/15/12 at 2:00.
There will be horses at the Eugene, Oregon auction this week that will need rescuing also. We are waiting for that information.
The goal amount is for their bail money, transport, board (until they are in their forever home), Hay and grain and supplements, training (if needed), rehabilitation (if needed), Vet checks and procedures (if needed), blankets (if needed), supplies, farrier, alternative therapies (if needed), etc.
The goal amount money will also be used for other horses in personal rescue situation such as in neglect and abuse cases.
Help me and all of us working to save these horses. They deserve a chance!
(The horse in the photo was rescued before shipping to slaughter. Her name is Honey she came to us severally arthritic and underweight. After a lot of love, time and rehabilitation she is now doing great! She is now in a loving forever home. She a sweet girlthat someone gave up on and sent her to auction, where, if no one rescued her she would have been slaughtered. This horse is the sweetest girl and actually gives us "hugs" that tell us "thank you for saving me and giving me a chance". Please help us, help more horses)
