Stop Hunger Now
Organized by: Jason Zheng
We are planning to host a meal-packaging event for Stop Hunger Now at New York University and would like your assistance. Volunteers at this event will prepare packaging stations and equipment, fill bins with raw ingredients, fill meal bags, weigh and seal the bags, and box the bags for shipment. The bags will then be shipped to Stop Hunger Now HQ, where from the organization's website (http://www.stophungernow.org), they will then "distribute meals through feeding programs operated by partner organizations in developing countries that promote education, encourage children to attend school, improve students’ health and nutrition, address gender inequalities, stimulate economic growth, fight child labor, and are part of the movement to address global issues." Before this can all transpire, however, we will need funds and volunteers. Our goal is to package at least 20,000 bags. With each bag costing roughly $0.29 each, the need for equipment and reservable space, we would like to raise $10,000. Once that amount is achieved, we will start a list for volunteers.
