1000 racehorses killed in slaughterhouses every year in Britain. 42 horses have died at the Grand National since 2000. Over 300 horses raced to death each year in the UK. Think about it. Horses forced to race when their bone structure isn't fully developed yet, causing injuries, and on the track, they are illegally whipped and abused, forcing them to go beyond their physical capability. When the horse can no longer race or make money, whether because of an injury or their inability to win, many are sent to make babies, then to a slaughterhouse to be killed for meat.
